i woke up to the snow that fell last night
so fine and cold that it passed right through the screen and up against my window
the fire place is still burning wood,
everything feels just as it should
no living thing has touched the snow
and if it did it would be no detriment to the feeling that I'm feeling.

we have to let it go

We've got no other choice
the snow will melt and freeze again, and dogs will piss and we'll all slip and fall hurt ourselves when we least want it. The roads are salted, our windshields frosted.
